This all seems like fantasy for us but there was a time where people used to dream of crossing an ocean just like we dream of crossing the universe. This dream gets closer to being fulfilled ever year. Just this January I came across this article.

When I first started writing I was a little bit scared of writing sex. Why you might ask? Truthfully I have no idea. Maybe I was scared I wouldn’t write believable love scenes. Maybe I thought I sucked at it, period. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a prude by any stretch of the imagination. It felt like the first time you made the decision to do anything you hadn’t done before. It can be exciting or terrifying. I was literally shaking in my boots.

I remember getting to the part in my book where they were going to get it on and thinking, “Can I really do this? Why do they have to do it now?” I shut myself in the office and just wrote, no editing, no thinking, just fingers on keys. Then I got up, walked out and made a cup of tea. “I feel like a voyeur,” I said to my husband. Poor guy didn’t get it.

After I calmed down I went back in and read over my words, made a few changes and carried on. The next sex scene got easier and that book ended up with three all up. That was a huge effort for me, not so much my characters. They enjoyed themselves immensely.

Nerves took hold once again when I sent it to my editor. I waited for her to shred the scenes to pieces. It never happened. “Hey, great sex,” was her reply. Thank goodness for that. It boosted my confidence to no end. After that, it got easier and easier. Now I’m even brave enough to tag my latest book erotic. I hope you enjoy the sex as much as I did

You Write Where?!?  By Rebecca Zanetti

Thank you for having me here at Literal Hotties today!  Do you ever wonder where authors write?  Before I started writing, I kind of pictured my favorite authors writing poolside at tropical resorts with umbrella decorated drinks next to them as sexy pool guys brought them chocolate covered strawberries.

Sounds good.

In reality, we write wherever we can.  At this moment, I’m sitting on a spotless white couch in a music room while my daughter takes her piano lesson.  Her teacher is a retired music teacher whose house always smells like sugar cookies.  They’re working on a lovely song I’ve never heard before, although there’s some fun clapping involved somehow.  I truly haven’t figured out when to clap.  

That’s okay, because I’m writing.

I also write at football, basketball, softball, and volleyball practices.  Not during games, because I love watching the kids and my husband play.  But practices are a great place to put on the headphones and just type away.  My home office is wonderful to write in, but sometimes I have to just change environments.  Of course, right now we’re moving houses, and I can’t find anything.

During the summer I often write at the lake, and during the winter, I’ve written in the ski lodge.  For the record, it’s impossible to write on a snowmobile.

Last year I spent plenty of time writing on airplanes and in hotel rooms because I attended so many conferences and book signings.  Plenty of RISING ASSETS was written in the south – both Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.  That’s a bit funny because Rising Assets takes place in Montana – a place close to my home and one I visited right after turning in the book.

I love Montana.  Big spaces, large mountains, real cowboys.  There’s nothing like a man who knows how to stride in cowboy boots and control a wild animal that hugely outweighs him.  Also, not sure if you knew this, but cowboys can dance.  Smooth and sexy…and they know how to lead.

In Rising Assets, hero Colton Freeze is a cowboy, a financial genius, and an organizer who has his life planned out perfectly.  Heroine Melanie Jacoby is a free-spirited tomboy whose life has taken a definite left turn.  They’ve been best friends for years until one explosive, fire-hot kiss throws them into chaos…because being best friends with benefits was never the plan.

Don’t worry... although his character evolves throughout the book he never loses that sexy edge that makes him yummy. He stays true to that bad boy persona so many of us have grown to love in our romance heroes.

Why will you love Ian Coghlan?

Um…well….he comes wrapped up in a very pretty package, complete with piercings and tattoos that cover both arms. Lots and lots of muscles too.

So, at first glance he’s pretty much a walking wet dream.

And then he’ll go and make it even better when he talks to you. No, seriously. He will. Cause yeah he’s super sexy and hot and stuff. He can shapeshift and has some magic powers associated with that (that aren’t just about sex, I know what y’all are thinking, cause you’re pervs, and that’s terrific).

But seriously. He’s NICE. He’s smart, and sweet, and sorta broken hearted cause he got kicked outta the only family he’d ever known. I mean, c’mon, why wouldn’t you love a guy that would not just take you for a ride on a motorcycle, but would teach you to ride your own if that’s what you wanted?

He can totally kick ass too. If you’re Ian’s lady and someone fucks with you, they are going down hard and they aren’t gonna get up again unless he wants them to. No joke.

Ian’s a lot more interested on what’s going on in a woman’s head than he is with the packaging. Peyton’s insecurities rear their ugly head and make her think he couldn’t possibly be interested in her because he’d dated pretty much every little tiny young thing in Travers, but he’d rather hang out with someone who can hold a conversation with him than a skinny minnie college girl. Being a Fae and having to hide out, he’s had to do stuff to blend in.

So why will you love Ian? Why wouldn’t you? Well, he does have some yucky man habits, he is a dude, after all.

But I don’t see how you can’t love Ian.

I guess if you don’t, he’d got five single friends you can try out.  Ya know, just to be sure.

Book boyfriends, you have to love them and there are several meme’s wandering the internet on the reasons why. For me the challenge is creating a hero who is realistic and interesting enough to catch the reader’s attention.

Troy from The Reaper and the Cop is no exception. Being a cop is more than a job for Troy, protecting people and upholding the law is a calling for him. He’s worked hard to get where he is, working up the ranks and putting in the extra hours when the job and cases warranted it.

Driven and focused, he’s the first out and the last back in when someone’s life is on the line. There are many people who owe their lives to him, either because he didn’t give up investigating their cases, or because he put himself in the line of fire to protect them. He’s the kind of guy who can’t leave the helpless unprotected and alone, be that a victim of crime or a stray dog or kitten.

A veteran of a big city homicide unit, he’s used to living alone because he hasn’t found a woman to put up with his strange work hours or one that completely understands his loyalty to the badge. He’d be the kind of man you’d want on your zombie survivor team, or with you if terrorists took over your building.

But under all the drive and determination, beneath the police training and the on the job training which has made him tough as nails, beats a heart of pure gold. Protective and possessive, Troy isn’t the sort of man to leave his woman wanting...in any way ;)

A Scorching Hot Kiss

When Literal Hotties posted a glowing review of Cassie Scot: ParaNormal Detective a few months back, April said, “The steamiest you get here is a scorching hot kiss. But there is hope for the next book getting hotter!”

Evan's kiss really is a scorcher. He can, we discover during the first book, bring a woman to orgasm with a single kiss. Cassie doesn't believe him at first, but she learns the truth the hard way. (Or more to the point, in a very arousing way.)

The idea for the kiss came to me in a dream – and oh, I'm sorry to sound like a cliché but it's the truth! I held that dream close to my chest for years before I dared write it down, though. It was the center of many a private fantasy.

I've worked my way into romance, it isn't something I set out to do from the start. But I noticed that the very minor romantic subplots I wrote into my first two books were by far my favorite parts of the stories, so it was clear to me that I needed to surrender to the romantic within, begging to be set free.

Cassie Scot was a great way for me to ease myself into romance. The romantic subplot (mixed with mystery and magic) takes four books to develop. Since it is one of several intertwined subplots, it's never going to get very high on the steam-o-meter, but I promise that I'm no curtain closer. For me it was just a matter of letting Cassie's character drive the story, and Cassie was not ready to have sex in the early books. Between you and me (and now everyone else on the Internet) I have a file with over two dozen discarded attempts to put a sex scene into the first two books. She said no, and no means no. So...

I was left with that scorching kiss. A single brush of lip against lip that no woman can resist.

I was reading a lot of romance in those early days of plot outlining and character sketching, when I was trying to decide whether or not to go for the magic kiss. Women in mainstream romance get thoroughly aroused by simple kisses all the time and they don't even have the fantasy umbrella for shelter. If I'm going to write fantasy, why not mean it? Why not own it?

Okay, so after writing all four books in the series I have an answer: The fun fantasy became quite the challenge when I realized only a total jerk would take advantage of such a power. Which makes foreplay awkward. When they do finally make love, I had to write the foreplay without any kissing lest the reader harbor any doubt as to whether or not Cassie is wholeheartedly embracing the moment.

Despite that challenge, I wouldn't change a thing. Evan is my dream man, including that erotic kiss of his. I hope you enjoy the romantic dynamic, which climaxes in Stolen Dreams (Cassie Scot #4).
