Ever After by Kim Harrison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy Freakin Awesome!!!!! I have been with this series from the beginning and at times it as been rocky and I was not sure if I wanted to continue, but this makes up for all of that in spades!!!

I decided to stay true to form and listen to the audiobook. At just over 18 and a half hours it is a bit of an epic listen. But oh so worth it!! And if you are anything like me, you'll listen at double speed while dong other tasks. It made a long Saturday of busy work fly by!!

Marguerite Gavin is one of my favorite narrator!! I am so happy she has been a constant in the series. She does a fabulous job of bringing Rachel to life. And I adore her take on Big Al, so aristocratic!! Ms Gavin is brilliant at differentiating voices and the story flows beautifully with her stellar reading. I have such happy ears after listening to her reading!!

The story this time is once again very involved, loads of back story leads up to this point. And it is a bit of an emotional roller-coaster!! You might need tissues handy, a few times!!

The adventure was very well paced and never a dull moment. Rachel really does seem to fall into the most interesting situations!! This really clears up more of the Demon issues, especially the leaking Everafter. We also get more details on the Demon and Elf wars and what may have really lead up to them.

On the Romance front, I definitely saw this happening from a mile away. It really is something that has been leading up since the first book. It is all about the love hate factors!! While I have generally been on Team Al, I love a bad boy, I may be jumping ship over to Team Trent. Or maybe we can just have a menage relationship removing the need to choose at all? No, I suppose not.

I can not wait to jump into the next book, which was majorly hinted at in this story. Those Vamps need some resolution!
